Alicia Stuart grew up in Kitchener-Waterloo and attended the University of Waterloo where she earned her Honours Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Political Science and Legal Studies. She earned the departmental award in 2008-2009 for distinguished academic achievement in Legal Studies and graduated top of her class in Legal Studies program. Alicia also worked as a pharmacy technician for several years before pursuing her law degree at the University of Ottawa where she earned a Juris Doctor. Alicia was called to the Bar in 2013.
After summering with Graves Richard Harris LLP and articling with the firm, she is delighted to have returned to the firm as an Associate. Although she had not planned on working in personal injury law, after her first summer in the field, Alicia stayed in personal injury because of the interesting people and cases she encountered.
Alicia enjoys the variety of work personal injury encompasses while making a difference in the lives of those who have been injured. As she says, “It is rewarding to be able to make a difference, and to help our clients through a difficult and confusing time.” Alicia has always been a people-person which lends itself perfectly to personal injury. Clients are at a difficult and confusing time in their lives, a time when they need to know someone will help them, take away their burden and treat them with respect and compassion.
Alicia has worked on many different types of personal injury cases, including victims of sexual assault and physical assault in CICB hearings, dog bite victims, people injured in car accidents, disability denials, insurance claims, and CPP and WSIB claims. She believes her clients would say she is especially skilled at dealing with insurance companies on their behalf, and taking away the added stress insurance company interactions can cause.
Alicia is a member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association and the Waterloo Law Association.
Alicia was pleased to return to her hometown of Kitchener-Waterloo, and now enjoys living there with her husband. They can often be found spending down time at the movies.
